Hi guys,
I was listing this on TradeMe but have had an email saying they intend to pull the ad unless I can prove the gas cylinders are not the original refillable ones. I can't because they are. Seems we are not allowed to sell refillables. It would be a real shame for this to go to the dump so I'm letting you know about it in case you want it. No sale, just koha of any amount you feel comfortable with.

I'm having a soda water as I write this so the cylinder inside the unit has a little less gas than it had ;)

A rare find, this original Sodastream from the early 1980's comes to you complete with it's two gas cylinders and two glass bottles with lids.

All original and still working just as it was in its heyday.

The spare gas bottle is filled. There is another bottle, partly used (for testing) inside the unit. Due to the cylinders being filled this amazing Sodastream is offered for pickup only.

The Sodastream is in excellent used condition but has two marks on one side, as you can see in the photos. These may be able to be cleaned off but with the sale of my home happening faster than I expected I haven't the time to try. These marks are purely cosmetic.

I'm moving overseas and not permitted to ship the cylinders.
Pick-up is in Palmerston North.

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

Soda stream was always nicer out of the chilled glass bottles than the plastic things they use today.....

Good luck :)

Nicer and cheaper. Then they brought in plastic and got snotty about the canisters, replacing them with canisters that could not be refilled and which you do not own. I've been told that the newer canisters will fit this model but since I've never had reason to try, this is something anyone interested in it will need to research (unless you can find someone that will refill these ones for you).

The one downside to glass bottles is that kids had a tendency to drop them. At least the plastic bottles don't break.

In recent years, I've only used this for retro-themed parties. It's a great talking point when you put it next to the drinks and get people making their own mixers. I put this out near the fondue set and cutesy little platter for stuffed eggs. it gets people laughing as soon as they get in the door. Shame I can't keep it.
