WTB - Transparent plastic 24 compartments box = 7 boxes in total. In Auckland.

As you probably know common type resistors come in 24 nominals in every band (e.g. 1 kOhm, 1,2 ....9.1)

Tried Plstic BOX; Jaycar (they only have 18 compartment boxes); Mitre10, Placemakers; Bunnings. No luck.
Do not want to buy from eBay or alibaba as someone may have those here.

Someone was selling those on Trademe for about $3 but not anymore.

Anyone? Something like this:

Tried supercheap or one of the fishing stores?

If they are for thruhole parts, check the length of the compartments are long enough as well.

Have you tried Spotlight - they have storage for crafters which may well have something that suits. Their craft range isn't on their website though.

My attitude to large stores like that is that if its not on the website, they don't want to sell it. Thats what drives most of my ebay/aliexpress purchasing.

Of course I did - their website has poor search ("beads storage" is the key word there) and their phone with 9 options - they just do not pick it up..:(

When I suggested Jaycar yesterday in person while spending $120 on components - that those boxes is what is logical to sell in line with resistors etc, - their response was less than impressive....
40 years ago I just used match boxes glued together.
One of hardware stores had bulky and pricy vertical box with 24 compartments - more suitable for bolts and nuts... 7 of those would be overkill - spacewise

That one is too big. 19 x 13 x 4 cm would be reasonable size

For things like resistors, semis, and caps, I have found those flat compartmentalised boxes a pain to use - every time you need to dig out parts, you have to open the whole lid, parts flick into adjacent compartments, and if you stand them upright, all the parts would shift downwards, and fall between compartments.

I use something like this:

but smaller, and each drawer is split into 3 with plastic dividers.

I think I picked them up years ago from a hardware place like bunnings, and was filled with an assortment of nails, screws, hooks, etc.

I saw those 24 compartments for $17 but still to bulky for me . In my cae I use a lot of those plastic boxes I am after and aware of the issues you described - Those just do not bother me. Value of having small boxes stacked on each other and consuming little space do outweight those issues.

Tiny (match box size) plastic zip-lock bags. We use them for surface mount resistors/capacitors/transistors/LEDs, could work fine for leaded resistors also if you are careful and not let the leads poke holes in the bags. Then place the bags in sequence in a narrow/long cardboard box (we actually have a surface mount resistor sample kit that came like that). You can also staple them together on one corner (when using larger bags).

You can never have enough Volvos!

That is a great idea. I've been looking for a solution for my SMD parts.

I have considered stapling my leaded resistors to a piece of paper. All of my resistors are on a strip so I could just staple the paper strip to the paper.

I saw some resitor strips in little clear pages in a folder somewhere. Looked like quite a nice way of storing things.
