Selling my QNAP TS-451. Used for review only, then replaced with a HP Microserver. Original box, cables, etc. Four bay NAS, Intel Atom-based. Runs virtual machines, plug directly to TV via HDMI if wanted as a media player.

Asking $500 (incl shipping).

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

I can find a description saying it "supports Plex media server", but just want to confirm it can run the server on its own? Rather than support meaning PMS on another device will run files stored on the NAS?

Did you test out its transcoding on-the-fly ability?

You plug it via HDMI to a TV and it will run Kodi full screen and it even supports I remote controls while still supporting NAS operations.

Didn't test Plex.

Transcoding works as designed...

Thanks, interested but need to do a bit more research first to see if it will fit my needs (and make sure I won't get in trouble with the other half)
