Currently looking to acquire some more space, and I'm thinking external's a good option right now. Preferrably something that isn't too bulky, and I'm not really looking for anything bigger than 100GB right now, unless it's going pretty cheap.
Laughing
Cheers fellas.

I have no idea what your budget is, but I can do a Seagate FreeAgent Go 80GB for $179 (incl GST). Comes with a 5 year warranty.

Nah, no thanks, unless you're willing to match DSE's going price for the same item. I think they're at least $40 cheaper at DSE. Sorry if that seemed rude.I'm just being a cheap student.

Lol, trust me (not trying to be racist), I'm Chinese, I know the Way of The Cheap. I'm Kiwi-born, but my parents grew up with great old Mao Zedong, so I'm constantly reminded.

It will probably cheaper if you buy an enclosure 2.5" or 3.5" depends on your hard drive dimension. From pricespy an enclosure cost about $8 to $10, a 2nd hand 40GB hard-drive probably about $50 more or less.

I don't know if my regular 2nd shop has its branch in other part of New Zealand. But here in Christchurch, they are having a stock clearance "Garage Sales" on the 24th. Computer Broker.

Alternatively, get some of your relative in China to send one over as a present Laughing

My flatmate has been reminding everytime I buy my IT gears that it is cheaper in China and she will get me one when she goes back. But she went back 4 times already, I haven't seen any IT gear she said she will get for me. Tongue out

I dunno if she's Chinese by ethnicity, but she definitely sounds Chinese.
