When we got our lifestyle block, we bought two saws. This is the larger one and is a pro spec saw - equivalent model is $2000 now.

It's probably done less than 10 hours work and has been serviced by the Stihl shop.

I'm keeping the small top-handle arborists saw because I find it all the saw I need for what we do and I get a man in from the local fire brigade if I need big tree work and let him deal with it in return for some of the wood. I injured my wrist last year and can't safely manage a saw this size now anyway.

$1100 ono but you'll need to collect as couriers won't take it due to fuel safety issues. Saw is in Martinborough.

Potentially interested, I'll open negotiations with the Minister of War and Finance... Two questions:
1. what size bar is attached?
2. what type of chain is it running? (full or semi chisel)

I take it this'll be your Trademe listing for said item?

Bar is 51cm measured from the tip to the part of the saw where it goes under the cover to the drive sprocket.

Not sure what sort of chain - just the 'normal' one the Stihl Shop fitted when it was new.

Yes it is - but I will pull it if you want it.

I have one of these exactly the same model also with the 20" (51cm) bar. It's an awesome saw which has dealt to some big trees that blew down without missing a beat. I've cut several seasons worth of firewood with my saw and would definitely buy another Stihl -- if this one ever wears out, which it may not with the amount I use it.

Should have cleaned the chain bar in the picture. It would have looked like new then:)

Looking at the condition of the saw it must of been 10 very intense hours.

No - it's just chain bar oil and sawdust. Biodegradable bar oil at that.

SWAMBO pulled it out and shot the images.

I gave it a quick wipe with a cloth and as you can see the oil kept it like almost new beneath! (I have no idea why the image is upside down - it isn't on my computer!)

The white paint soon marks though so it is not a very good indicator of use.

You don't know my wife! She is not infected with the modern PC Auto Offence gene - she'd agree immediately if she thought it would sell the saw!

Her response to the fruit thing was "Well, the women volunteered and got paid. I do not see any problem at all! What a load of PC Bull***t!"
