Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

keen to know if there are any companies parallel importing the Amazon Echo into New Zealand. I am desperate to own one to compliment my wemo light switches. I couldnt understand the customs duty on the thing, it came up as a fishing device (because of the echo Im guessing) and it says the fees are $50 GST but another time it was $100 for GST and import levy. Life is much simpler with parall importing anyone?

Amazon echo is $179.99 on amazon.com - thats $276NZD aprox
Dont know if they freight that to NZ - If not you can set up a free youshop (nzpost) account whioch gives you a USA/UK/China 'address'.
You get it shipped to your USA address and NZpost tells you how much freight will be (check the weight/size of the ech first and use the NZpost calucaltors to roughly work out the cost of shipping to NZ before buying.
You pay the freight cost to youshop and they send it to your NZ address.

You dont have to pay gst on purchases under $400 NZ - this amount must include the cost of shipping from memory.

Probably worth asking what other geekzoners have paid to ship one to NZ.
I havent seen any mention of anyone selling them here.

Here is the customs page:
http://www.whatsmyduty.org.nz/whats-my-duty

GST must be over $60 - which means total item price must be < $400NZ - otherwise you pay GST
