I'm making a pair of stands for surround speakers and want to put them on spikes. To my surprise, I'm having trouble tracking some down - have phoned five likely hifi places in our area to no avail.

I already have some and need only three more - looking for narrow, longish ones (~25-30 mm overall). Thread-size doesn't matter.

Would be grateful if anyone has some I could buy + postage etc, or pickup - I'm on Auckland North Shore.

Failing that, does anyone know for sure where I can get some, hopefully locally? Please reply here or PM.

Thanks

Craig

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

Thanks - did see that - may resort to them if need be. Their website says they have some but there's nothing specific there - just says 'call and discuss' or something.

okay this is a bit ugly but an option from readily available parts... Get these (sorry don't know the official names, but Bunnings/Mitre10 should have them), then get the appropriate size/length of a bolt (ensure you get them with the thread all the way down the shaft) then cut the head off the bolt, grind a point on end of the bolt, add a nut to lock in place and job done....

Thanks to all those who replied and particularly to Dave for the kind offer via PM. I have just tracked down a local manufacturer of, amongst other things, speaker stands with spikes. Just happens to be owned by a guy I knew quite well 20 years ago through kids' rugby. He had loose spikes and gave me three for old time's sake. So all sorted thanks.

So its like they dont really want to sell them.

How quickly do you need them? Plenty of options on aliexpress but seem expensive for what is just a piece of turned and threaded metal.
