So... I bought one of these after looking at amazing footage of what they can do.

It has now been unused for 5 months...

I have the standard battery plus 2 extra 5700MG batteries.

Confession... one of the arms is partly broken due to a fight with a tree at long bay beach,  not right through but halfway, its taped currently and i have done several long flights without issue since
But it should be repaired, lots of videos on youtube on how to repair and not complicated...

My question is... how much should I be asking for this?

Im just never going to use it really, was an absolute impulse buy...... :(

Cheers

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

Is it the single or dual controller model?

Where are you located? Any chance of a photo of the damage please?

Tockly: Is it the single or dual controller model?

It is one and the same...... just requires getting an extra controller...

In my experience, you will be much better off getting it repaired then selling it undamaged, especially with drones where people will often assume you are understating the damage/severity of the crash.

I'd agree with this (Repair before selling).

I'd imagine you will struggle to get back near the value you spent on it, as it's going to have a very small market, and even smaller number of people who are interested, who ALSO have the funds available.

Sorry to be discouraging.

You might be better to find an RC Enthusiast forum and talk about it there.

Seriously, what even reply?

Anyway, I agree with @networkn - fixing it should fetch better money.

Thanks all,  some good advise, I have been in touch with the official agents of DJI here in NZ who can repair them... so will get it repaired before I try and sell it.

Cheers!

I'll go back to looking at new. Used, at near to new pricing isn't going to happen in that price bracket.

That is expected,  pretty much always take a hit when selling second hand electronics :)
I'm in Unsworth Heights btw. A photo won't show you much as the damage is not really visible but you can feel slight flex in one of the two big horizontal carbon fibre arms..

It will still be under warranty too which hopefully works in my favor.. even if I lose some money its better to get some back than just have it collecting dust at the back of a wardrobe and losing even more value as newer models come out..

If you're keen, update the thread when you've got it all fixed, figured out your price and ready to sell. Maybe I'll still be in the market!
