My niece needs to find a $400 or less tablet, new or second hand so long as working perfectly.

I'd have ideally liked her to get a surface 3 with keyboard, but I imagine I'd be dreaming to hope to find one inside that budget second hand (Though if you have one I'll be keen).

Needs to be reasonably powerful and have a good screen.

Android or Windows ideally.

Any recommendations or offers?

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

I bought an iPad Air and Belkin Ultimate Keyboard Case last year for Uni. I ended up selling it and switching to a Macbook Air, simply because I missed the use of a trackpad.

I sold my iPad and keyboard for $500, so you should be able to get something decent for $400.

Has she considered a Chromebook or HP Stream? Those were the other options I considered before buying my Air.

Ive had both versions of the Nexus 7 and love them. My kids use the 2nd Gen Nexus 7 and its still a great device.  Honestly; really great!  I see you can still pick them up for under $400 http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=2082717  If you can stretch a bit further I would get a Nexus 9. I'd buy one myself if I could find a reason. I cant because a) I personally dont have a need a tablet and b) the Nexus 7 is still very very good.
