As above. Unneeded giveaway, received from a leading NZ mobile carrier yesterday.

Two-year Samsung warranty period has not started.

Samsung RRP shows as $399 but at least one carrier is showing it as $325. Under the circs I'm not wanting to be greedy on price so hopefully $289 is reasonable - plus $10 for insured track & trace.

Pickup from Mairangi Bay, Auckland North Shore.

Please PM me if any interest - I'll leave this open for a day or so and if no go, I'll resort to TradeMe.

Cheers

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

If you think it through, it's unlikely that there's going to be a 'flood' of new J5's for sale due to the Note7 recall. There's not been a huge number of N7's sold in NZ yet and when they're returned, not all N7 owners will end up with J5's.

Then, it appears that some J5's will be only on loan by N7 retailers and will have to be returned when replacement N7's become available.

Next, many of those J5's that are 'keepers' will actually be used until replacement N7's are available - then they will either be gifted or maybe sold. By then you're likely talking about a small number of second-hand phones for sale further down the track.

Probably very few J5's will remain sealed in their box and be put up for sale as brand-new phones over the next few days - the number will be a fraction of a low proportion of a small number.

So for anyone who is looking for a brand-new phone of this type right now and at a reasonable discount to other sources, this is your opportunity. Make an offer if you wish.

Will leave it open for a few more hours before moving over to TM.

What's the particular version of this phone, as there are a few J5 variants listed on PriceSpy - I'm assuming that, if it was one being offered by an NZ Telco, it's this one here which NL's has currently for $299?

Yes, it's an SM-J500Y. Sorry, should have but didn't think to look on PriceSpy.

Please PM an offer if you're interested - otherwise moving to TradeMe shortly.

Cheers
