G'day all,

I've gotten sick of being unable to find and buy office shirts (smart casual) that are long enough to not untuck. I'm looking for a tailor (preferably in Christchurch) that can measure and make shirts to order.

I don't care about high quality materials (standard farmers / tarot cash quality is fine) but I don't want to pay close to $400 got one.

Does anyone know where i can get a measured custom shirt made to order for a respectable price?

I've been using ATailor for years, I got a grabone voucher. They're an Australian website with the shirts made in Thailand, plus they make all kinds of clothes. Prices are cheap, less than $100 delivered, with a huge range of fabrics and options. You measure yourself, they make. You'd probably just get one to start with, as it won't fit perfectly, but your second should be pretty close and the third even better. They take 4-6 weeks to arrive. The shirts last as long as any other cotton shirt, but not as long as the harder wearing composite fabrics.

I probably have a dozen of their shirts, split across 3 or 4 orders. Customer service is good, on the odd occasion they have remade because I got a number of shirts with the same dimensions and one or two haven't fit.

I've used tailorstore.co.nz a couple of times this year.

While it has a .nz website, IIRC it is a Scandanavian (Swedish) company and the shirts are made in Sri Lanka.

I've had excellent service.  Very prompt turnaround, (less than a week made/delivered) with photos of the actual shirt being made and have been very happy with the cloth/build quality.

Someone recommended these guys to me in another thread: http://www.ansfashions.com/

They don't tell you any prices on the website but the person who recommended them said he thought they were quite reasonable. The guy's going to be in Christchurch in a few weeks, I've made a booking to go see him. Might be worth a shot.

Try the 3 Wise Men. I found their shirts are long enough for me.

The online British shirt companies are great value, especially since the Brexit vote has nuked sterling.  The ones I use are ctshirts.co.uk and tmlewin.co.uk.  Both pretty similar.  Best to buy in multi-deals, like 4 for 100 pounds.

They're not custom made to measure, but there's a pretty broad range of sizing options and heaps of colours, patterns, cuff/collar types etc.  Note, I'm 6'6" and body and sleeve length are no problem.
