Looking to buy some bookshelf speakers, will consider anything but ideally pickup in the Auckland area.

Two slim ones in plastic enclosure from plasma TV - if put vertically - will fit size of a book :-) Greenlane

Mates rates - 15$ for both

Maybe you could be a bit more specific. If you say bookshelf you probably want them to fit a specific space (a bookshelf for instance...). How big is the room you want to fill, do you want to run a separate amp and, most critically: what do you want to spend?

Looking to spend around $300-500? It'll probably be used near-field initially but it'd be great if it could be a starter set for a small'ish living room home theatre front channel set later on.

Heard great things about the LSR305s but looking for passive speakers. Thanks for the replies though.

The ones I posted above can be used in 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound as either central speaker or rear speakers.
