Looking to buy a Intel NUC NUC6i7KYK or something similar with Toslink (Optical) port so I can use it behind my wall mount TV.

Budget is under around 900 but negotiable. I have a HP DL350 G7 server with some hdd's if keen to swap or happy to pay cash.

Hi,

I am specifically after something that has Optical / Toslink output and is small form factor which can play 4k.

Thanks

It may be worth considering waiting a few weeks for the NUC6CAYH if you're not in any rush, which will handle 4K easily with full hardware decoding at a lower price point than the i3/i5/i7 options.

That's a good one, it has Toslink out too. Cannot find NZ release date. I am not really in a rush to be honest.

I dont think you will find much going fowards with an optical port on them, since HDMI has largly taken over from that side of things.

USB sound devices with optical on them are pretty cheap - around $8 when I last got a USB 5.1 sound card with it on that, may sort your problem out, otherwise an HDMI audio extractor will get you optical or coax from HDMI, but I am yet to see one that will deal with hdmi 2.0.
