I have two little girls who would just love to be able to have their own tablets or ipads for school. It would be of huge benefit for their education. Thanks in advance for you offers of reasonably priced second hand error free functioning units.

I have a couple I'd be willing to let go of for a reasonable offer:

  • iPad 2 16-64GB [A1396] Mobile+Wifi - Good cond with original box.
  • iPad Air 2 128GB [A1567] Mobile+Wifi - Brand new unsealed with Apple warranty.

However depends how old the kids are and whether they need an iOS device or not.

For primary age I would go with a cheap PB Tech / Warehouse Android tab if possible as from experience it's usually at most a few months before it's dropped, lost, stolen or submerged / rained on.

For older kids I'd still recommend a higher end Android tab or even Microsoft surface (IMO providing a lot more functionality) however if iOS is the necessity then mobile-enabled (3G / 4G) models as above are a good idea for older students so as not to be tied to Wifi.

Thanks.  I am just going to do a bit more research (as the kids need chrome/google a lot) and I'll get back to you if keen.

At my kids' primary school Google Classroom and the chromebooks seem to have wiped out iPads as the standard classroom computer. While two or three years ago every classroom had a stack of iPads, now every new device seems to be a chromebook. Makes a lot of sense: Zero admin, cheap, easily replaceable when they get lost or broken.

I've never seen an Android tablet in the classroom.
