Described as not only the highest performing AP available, but also the best value. UAP-AC-HD is the top model in the UniFi range & comes fully equipped to handle pretty much anything that gets thrown at it. Capacity for up to 500 clients spread out over a massive 120m range - oh look, instead of me typing all this, it's all here on the UniFi site, go read it.

It does stuff like this:

Surplus to requirements, purchased for an ambitious project that didn't proceed, it's unopened, new in the box.

Pricespy has PB with the lowest retail price - $605 & I realise that this is not going to be a profitable investment. If you're interested in owning what's probably the world's best WiFi AP, then hit me up with a reasonable offer. By reasonable, I mean north of half price.

That's not north, it's barely north west west. My bad, I should have thought about the audience before posting in such a way.

It's of no matter now though, the device has been sold to another member for a northerly sum. Thanks for watching, cheers.

You know that was a 'tongue in cheek' comment, right? My bad, I should've thought about the OP before posting in such a way. smile

When my one was working, it seemed to be no different to the AC-PRO for 15 or so devices on my craptastic VDSL connection. I'm not sure what difference I would see.

I had it sitting ontop of the switch till I got around to clearing space to put a ladder in the middle of the shed and in that time it crapped out, takes power from the unifi switch but doesnt do link or make wifi. Really should find the invoice and take it back to PB.

I think you'll see more of a difference if you have north of 300 (:P) devices connecting to that one AP. I think it's supposed to give better range too?

Yeah, till I get my nas and servers back online I dont really have any use for it. Just got it for the shed since if Im going to the hassle of actually attaching one properly and wiring it up all neat may as well splash out on the biggest and best one ;)

Just like my thinking. If I'm going to buy something, I want to try get the biggest and best one so hopefully no issues (or less of them) in the long run.

Within budget. :P

You could just pick up a 2nd hand Ruckus that will outperform the UBNT hands down for less than the price of the AC-HD new.

What Ruckus one are you talking about?

No matter what abnybody says you can't have 600 clients, or even 500 clients connected to a radio. Even 300 starts to post problems on high end gear because you can't overcome basic issues such a retries which kick in at 100-150 clients even if they have great SNR.

Hm that's interesting to know! I knew they probably couldn't handle the 500 clients like UBNT mention, hence why I said over 300. Surprised that even 300 will start seeing problems. Would the better solution be to add more APs but downgrade each AP's power rating?
