Used custom built Intel i7 PC. Have just done a major PC upgrade and have re-housed the old components. Never overclocked, and always run in a well ventilated area. Have reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium (genuine retail license) and applied all the updates. I believe this can be still updated to Windows 10 using the upgrade program but not certain. Runs games reasonably with the R270x at 1080p using medium settings but struggles at higher quality levels. Will be great for general browsing and with a new GPU will be great for max details at 1080p or higher.

The case has USB3 as the front connections but the motherboard only has USB2 headers and so are not connected. You would need to purchase an adapter to convert the front connections to USB2.0.

Specs are:

Intel Core i7 3770
Biostar hi-fi h61s3
16GB DDR3 (2 x 8GB) used HP Ram
250GB Seagate Sata HDD
Silverstone GD09 HTPC case
AMD Radeon R9 270x 2GB ram
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (including original DVDs and packaging)
DVD drive with R/W capability

Looking for somewhere in the region of $600 but also open to understanding what people think it is worth.

Picture available if people want to see the case, its fine with some marks from use.

Cheers

Chris

Given that I've hadn't had any bites, what do people think this is worth?

I think your valuation is fair, with maybe a little wiggle room for negotiation.

To put it in perspective an ex-lease site I use to purchase 2nd hand PC's offers a 4770k machines with 8GB RAM, larger HDD, Licenced Windows, for $500.

The price rises to $600 for 16GB ram and a discreet graphics card (probably not as good as a 270x).

Yeah the use of region was to give a general thought but allow for reasonable offers, I'm comfortable around the 600NZD value but its interesting that no nibbles... Trademe was quiet as well apart from those trying to force a bargain... Will leave this here for a bit longer and then try trademe again, perhaps demand might have changed.

Just trying to figure out what to do with my old Gamer machine of a very similar spec.

Honestly haven’t even booted up once this year, as most of my ‘surfing’ is on my 7+, and ‘work’ on a new spec HP laptop (provided by work).

Perhaps the market for PCs has greatly reduced as games consoles now have decent power and HD TVs for diplays, and phones provide the ‘quick fix’ convenience?

I think we're in the middle of a console power issue; you're probably right in that most people use tablets or phones for general browsing and with the current crop of consoles ok at 1080p and the refresh versions appearing to be better at that res, PCs that can play games are likely used by power gamers who require a beefier machine and GPU and these machines CAN work but often shunned as they're considered 'old tech'.
