Well, my ATV3 is still awesome, as my Tv doesn’t do more than 1080P and I don’t play games on a console... what does the 4 have but future proofing and ‘onboard’ apps that the 3 supports via streaming anyway?

There are a lot more apps (for TV/streaming) on the Apple TV 4 than on the 3. The device is a lot quicker, and it supports audio levelling/compression - something that can be nice if you are watching TV and don't want to wake up the rest of the house.

Trust me, if you like your Apple TV 3, you won't regret for a second upgrading to Apple TV 4.

I've got one as an unwanted gift - i unwrapped it to have a look but it's never been out of the box. Keen?

How much are you selling your unit for?

Thanks for your PMs members - sorry to say after gestating without action my atv has hit reserve on TM so will be sold there. God help me.
