Hi all,

I actually purchased a pair of SILVER Bose QC35 series II headphones last Friday on the 9th of March.

After using it for a short while, I ended up not liking it. I am looking to purchase a different pair of headphones.

Bought them for 499nzd @ Noel Leeming, I can provide the invoice and everything that came with it, as if new.

The headphones work well, no real gripes with it, they still are the most comfortable pair of over-ear headphones in the market.

I've just tried a friend's pair of headphones and I'm deciding to sell mine to buy his.

The headphones are only a few days old, and I've barely used it since purchase. I took really good care of it, there are no scratches and still looks & smells brand new.

Selling at 450nzd.

This is the pair I have:

Let me know if you have any questions. Can post at buyers expense.

I actually work in Auckland CBD if anyone's interested in pickups.

I'm looking at headphones in this price range too. Quite curious what ones you ended up buying off your friend?

To me, there's only two headphones that compete in this segment (Active Noise Cancelling, great sounds and wireless) and they are the bose qc35 II and the sony Wh-1000xm2.

Just traded one for the other. Both are very good but there are distinctive differences. And most of the differences are what you can find online throught reviews.

The gist of it:
Bose are more comfortable and sounds great, especially well suited for people who love classical music.
Still one of the best Noise Cancelling headphones in the industry.

Sony on the other hand, had more features, sound better and had longer battery life, albeit being less comfy with the ears getting hot after awhile. But worth the better soumd quality and deeper base. Also really good noise cancellation.

When it came down to it, best try both. Just depends what you use them for. I've seen people return one for the other and vice versa, but too bad we cant do that in NZ. :( noel leeming doesn't allow exchanges for headphones for hygiene reasons.

Those are the exact two I have been demoing over the weekend.  I'm so torn though!

I like the feature set more of the Sony and all the reviews favour the Sony for sound quality over the Bose, but to my ears the Bose had the better sound.  The Sony's just sounded stuffy to me with no clear definition between certain vocals and instruments.  I do not know if the upcoming Android Oreo update which brings LDAC support will bring about better sound for the Sony's, but like for like I prefer Bose.

The other factor why I'm torn at the moment is the Sony's are $429 at Noel Leeming until Tuesday surprised

I chose the Bose over the Sony.

The Sony probably had better Bass, but the Bose won for Comfort, and I felt the Noise Cancelling was a touch better (maybe actually more to do with the fact that they didn't fell like they were cancelling noise by just clamping hard on my ears).

They are both really good though.

I have the Bose QC35 and chose it over the Sony for comfort and also the Sony looked a bit bulky.

Have used it for about 6 long haul flights and they worked a treat.

A friend bought the QC35 II recently and I found that this model does not come with an airplane adaptor. Wonder why the omission is ?

Mine is older and comes with the adaptor and has a little compartment for it in the case.

I've owned both. I prefer the Sony for slightly better voice attenuation. Bose has some excellent points like cool fabric, multiple device pairing, stays on without pairing, NR feels slightly heavier in the bass, Bose calling mic is better.

So does everyone here prefer the Sony's in terms of sound quality??  Is there something I'm missing or not hearing?

Nah, i've seen people comment on the sound and some do say they don't sound very different, some said the bose had better sounds for ochestral music, while some said the bose sound better overall. I believe it is perceived individually. Unless you're an audiophile, I reckon you won't notice the difference. But if you take a look at the numbers/ specs of the headphones, sony has it better.

It all comes down to user preference though.
Design/sound/comfort/features/price.

About a month ago, noel leeming sold the sony pair at a very low price of 350nzd (you can still find the post in the bargains and deals forum) that was a whopping 150$ cheaper than the bose. Maybe if you were to wait for another sale, then you can really decide on which pair you want :P easter is coming after all!

Also, i would caution the sony pair has a major flaw in its previous model with the headband cracking on their users. Sony never officially said that they fixed it. The closest thing to having mention it is via a comment on amazon where a sales rep said they used "better" materials on this model.

I've read forums where people have said that they haven't cracked under heavy use though.

The main nightmare was that sony refused to fix the crack under warranty and blamed it on user negligence. That was for the previous model, not sure about this one though. Good luck!

Everything I've seen says that is 100% different now. The main reason for revving the model number in fact.
