how fast is this? has the ios updates made this item quite slow? all apps can be installed on this model?

(sorry ios noob here, i have been told the older models can get pretty slow as ios updates are released?)

I would say the speed is average. Fine for ebooks, email, web surfing etc. Anything labour intensive, it may struggle. Ideal starter for a younger child. It has the last available IOS update that it will run.
