So my Corsair AX650 made a pop noise while playing Overwatch and now PC wont boot. I have checked and the one from my sons PC allowed it to boot so I dont think I lost any importnat hardware. Before I drop into Playtech or PB tech for a new one I figured I should check if anyone has a 600W or better PSU collecting dust they dont need in Auckland.

Happy to pay good money, but not Trademe money

Willing to collect during the day as far south as Maukau (I'm in Albany)

Its 6 years old so I am not hopeful, cant even recall where I purchased it (think it was playtech but not 100% sure)

For what it's worth, the Corsair website says your PSU has a 7 year warranty. Might be more hassle than it's worth to make a claim on that though.

I had an 850w that cost me some money, I went through Corsair's own warranty process and had to send the PSU to Hong Kong.

From memory that cost about NZ$70 but they returned me a fresh (or maybe refurbished) PSU in retail packaging with all the modular cabling (and I never sent mine, so nice to have lots of extras).

Was worth it versus the cost of buying another quality PSU

Just googling suggests a 7 year warranty so it might be worth entering your serial number and seeing how you go. Not sure if you need proof of purchase for that though.

Cheers. I might google that up, but a new one is only $78 from PB tech so spending $70 on shipping seems a bit of a hassle and I will try and sell the cables on tradme as I have them all plus a few extra.

So I found the problem .. one of the motherboard screws fell into the PSU (it was bottom mounted fan up) .. please everyone check your motherboard screws and turn your PSU to be down intake.

Anyway I purchased a new one and its all running again.

Case Closed.
