Wanted - Windows 10 install media on DVD please.

Hi does anyone have an old Windows 10 install from boot DVD I could have please? For a Windows 8 laptop that I was trying to mend for the 100% disk issue - the install from iso failed just at the reboot stage and now have black screen of death. The laptop can't boot from usb in the BIOS and no longer have a DVD drive except on the broken laptop :) can pay postage.

If you have a local PC store, it might be worth poking your head in and asking - they might have a disc they can loan/give you.

Also, what part of the world are you in? Someone might be able to let you boomerang one who's nearby.

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.

Can someone with a DVD drive burn me a Windows 10 installation media DVD and send it please, or I can pickup in Auckland..

Just from this link - create installation media for a different PC.  I'll try get it to recognise the existing Win 8 license key, otherwise I already have an unused Windows 10 license if needed.

Thanks!

Have you created a bootable fat32 USB key, quite often the USB boot key won’t show as an option in the bios until one is inserted.

UEFI boot is quite picky about the stick and also what it has on it compared to legacy boot, some of my sticks will show up as kingston whatever and be bootable, others it just totally ignores.

I have yet had any issue with booting from USB as long as the right filesystem is used - I have tried non-branded USB storage, speed be the difficulty to endure though lol.

Thanks, trying that now.  I see now there isn't even an option to create the boot installation tool to DVD, only USB so hopefully it will work..

If you don't have a DVD writer attached, then I don't think the option to write to DVD exist.

Sorted now - thanks for the second and third eyes.  There was a setting in Bios had to change - 'Fast BIOS' mode change to disabled, which allowed legacy USB boot option..
