I'm looking for a couple of desktop keyboards to use as back-up. Nothing fancy, just about anything will do - wired or wireless, USB or even PS2, mechanical or membrane, as long as it works and is cheap. I am in Hawke's Bay but happy to pay postage.

$22 at PB Tech with shipping. I'll keep looking.

I’m positive I have some keyboards that are no longer needed, checking for you.

Great, thanks. I also have a lot of (very) old legacy gear if there is anything you want.

Did you get keyboard?

My local charity shop (Wgton) has a box full of them (at least 7 or 8 quick count), some in original box.

Good idea. I didn't think to check the local op shops. Yes, I'm still looking.

I've got a brand new one you are welcome to … know anyone visiting Wellington that could carry it to you?

Unfortunately, no. But keyboards are cheap and plentiful. Ir shouldn't be too hard to find one, especially with your op shop suggestion. Thanks heaps for the offer, though. That is very generous of you.

I have about 100 of various types lying around. If you cover shipping you can have as many as you like.

They aren't new.

Thanks for that. This is sort of what I was hoping for. Not expecting new. I just need a couple as back-ups. Pretty much anything would do, though I suppose wired USB mechanical would be best but I'm not fussy. I have a half-dozen here that have all developed encoder issues so some keys don't work. I have tried cleaning/repairing them but without success so am assuming chip failures.

Two would be enough though I might come back to you another time if more give up the ghost. I can't determine the exact shipping cost without knowing the size of the package, but it should be somewhere around $10 plus rural surcharge. I recently posted two ATX PSUs from town and they were only $12 for both.

I may still have your details from our previous transaction. When I know the actual cost I will send it to you.

Thanks again. By the way, didn't we have a wager of some kind? I assume I probably lost but I honestly don't remember the details. I think it had something to do with Kiwibuild. I do remember it involved donating $100 to the winner's charity, so if you let me know your choice I will take care of that at the same time.

@rikkitic just send me your address, and how many keyboards you need and I'll get them on your way, you'll probably want to clean then. Don't worry about working out postage, it's not going to be a big amount either way I don't suspect.

I can't guarantee they all work so I'll send some spares.

Donate the $100 to a child cancer charity please. (It was based on the promise by Labour to to build 3K minimum Kiwibuild houses in 2018, which they didn't manage to *build* 100 (they rebranded some instead))

This is a wager I'm happy to lose. I just sent $120 to a charity called REACH. I like it because it is a home-grown Christchurch charity founded by mothers to support specific research at Otago University.

I sent the extra $20 since you said you would cover the postage. This only seems fair.

I would like to have two working keyboards. If you can send up to four that should surely do it. Thanks very much.

I will PM my address. Thanks again.
