You didn't mention price range, room size etc, but for not much money you can get some pretty great small digital amps.
I have an SMSL Q5 Pro I bought for less than $130 off ebay, which has a subwoofer output, multiple inputs, a remote and a built-in DAC on its USB input. I've used a couple other SMSL amps as well and would recommend them.
I also have an SMSL Q5 (non pro) amp for one of my systems. Has been pretty low hassle. It's got a habit of randomly dropping a channel when used via USB, requiring a power cycle to get it back (is a known issue with some revisions of the model). I use it with optical input which doesn't have any issues.
What do you guys think about the Q5 pro vs second hand receivers? I know they're not in the same size class, but in terms of price there are some used receivers.
