I have a brand new TP-Link PCI Gigabit network card, still sealed in the box if you're interested?

$10 plus postage.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

If you don't live near Hastings I will be happy to post. Condition is that you be patient until I get around to it. I don't live in town. It won't take weeks but it might be days. It depends on other things I need to do.

No charge for the PSU. The postage isn't much but a small donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. They all need it so whatever is easiest for you. Not a lot, just a dollar or two. If this is acceptable and you are not nearby, PM your address.

You can find me in Albany during the day and Sunnynook-Devonport at night. Can do 2 of those 500GB HDD's if you need.

Depends entirely on the build. But from what I've seen, it's very hard to get a full PC build down to the power consumption levels of a retail router. Too much overhead with the PSU, mobo, etc. especially if you're reusing old parts.

If you're going for low power, may as well try one of the low power NUCs (i.e. Celeron).

thats true, any one has experience with how reliable those custom build routers are?
