Hi All

Working on a IT project for a small BnB in Tonga and looking for a 2nd hand Zenbu router to install. Anyone here have a unit they want to part ways with?

Cheers

I know this is off topic a tad but as a guest I dread those Zenbu hotspots. Why not go with Ubiquiti gear and use their built in hotspot + voucher management service (if voucher management is a must).

Edit: Also both Cambium and Grandstream wireless access point gear has the same sort of hotspot management however have not used this feature. Grandstream is an all in one device (access point + wireless controller) that could be a go.

Good idea and one I have wanted to do. But they are familiar with Zenbu and there is a resource on island which can support when I fly back to NZ. Cheers

Edit - also cost to setup. Hopefully get a old Zenbu router for next to nothing.

Never thought about Grandstream. I have a GWN7000 and some APs up there.. will take a look at that too. Thanks!

Will do!

I have VPN access to the network so might start tinkering before I fly out.

Cheers for the idea!

I'd recommend Zappie over Zenbu for the hotspot controller - firmware is available for a fairly wide range of hardware https://secure.zappie.net/hotspot-firmware - then run whatever other APs you want to extend WiFi coverage.
