Been looking at dedicated routers to replace my current ASUS RT-AC58U, as I have disabled the wireless and am running a UAP-AC-LR and it seems like a waste when I could pass the ASUS on to someone else.

Does anyone have a second hand MikroTik hEX S, UBNT EdgeRouter X, Lite or 4, or a UBNT USG lying around they'd be willing to part with?

Spending way too much time and money on Unraid servers!

I'll have an EdgeRouter ERLite-3 retired by Easter if you do not get any better offers. Purchased September 2017, set up in a remote location, and it has been ROCK solid since then. The router it replaced had to be rebooted every few months which was a PITA because of the location.

Only retiring it as the connection it controls will not be required in a fortnight. PM me an offer, but no hurry. Anyone else is welcome to do so if the OP does not want mine.

Stick to Mikrotik for enterprise features. UBNT routers are still toys in comparison.

RB750Gr3 for amazing bang for the buck, or RB3011 to flex a bit more muscle on those gigabit connections.

Mikrotik are amazing routers for the money.

I had one of these, which has now been bought by a client:

and I have replaced it with this:

I would suggest the following if you want something high end, which are consumer versions of the RB1100AHX4

with wireless-

These can also work with VDSL using a Metanoia V5311 SFP.

Looks like you can buy a bare-bones empty chassis (Juniper Networks SRX5600E on eBay) for a bit under $NZ7k (plus shipping, GST, etc)
