Hi

Anyone wanting to part with their Chromecast Audio.

Looking at offering $40 plus postage to CHCH.  I have tried TradeMe but with bidding at about $50 , I would rather buy brand new  from Dick Smith ($48 + PP $13 )

I am going to use it to cast Spotify from my mobile device to my old Yamaha Home Theatre  RX V473 which only has Airplay. Its already connected to the Internet via the Ethernet port using a HomePlug. AV2000 for the occasional Internet Radio.

thanks

If you are looking at spotify I would really suggest getting an amazon echo dot, unless digital out is essential to you.

The chromecast can only be started from a phone/tablet, the spotify connect on echo's can be started from a PC or even the web player once its set up, the chromecasting is _still_ spotty when a phone comes and goes from the wifi while playing.

Yeah it's a good point.  On specials the echo dots are about the same price, or just a little bit more than the audio was.

I have a chromecast audio, and fire it up just to feed an older receiver and especially for zone 2 (which requires an analogue input) outdoor speakers.

When the chromecast audio works, it works fine, but I've had periods where for whatever reason it fails to present in the phone app and i have to cycle the power a bit to make it appear.
