I have a Panasonic DMR-XW390 and the remote is playing up, wondered if any one has one lying around that they don't use. We are giving up Sky and just need something to record the evening news that's the only thing we watch on terrestrial TV.

The unit is still working OK but with the remote not working properly , can record the news but can't seem to play it back. Have tried to use Harmony remote but can't seem to get the same buttons to play etc.

Might be interested in a new recorder any suggestions for a cheap alternative ?

I picked up a spare Sony remote last time for only$3.30. It looks like a real one and works perfectly

I have grabbed replacement appliance parts (including panasonic remotes) from here - https://www.needapart.co.nz/ and found them solid

Yes I had a look there earlier lot to choose asked if would work with my Panasonic DMR-XW390 I don't know if they reply?

Can work it with Harmony for for now using the missing buttons on the original remote.
