Hey GZ members.

I put my Column heater too close to my case a few weeks ago and melted the power button. It kinda works but I need a new case as I am using a screwdriver to short the pins at the moment.

Before I go get something basic from Trademe I figured I would see if anyone had an old unit taking up space.

Dont need tempered glass, dont need RGB, dont even need front USB3 .. could even have a DVD drive gap and I'd be happy :-)

Budget is almost non existant but found a few for $10~$15 on TM :-)

I'm In Auckland (North Shore) and would prefer to collect.

Thanks

Sorry to interrupt your post but you reminded me of my son years ago.

He had an old PC and old school monitor setup in such a way that I warned him he'd knock one or the other off and leaving the monitor cable screwed in the back would not be good when that happened.

It did. He didn't tell me. Until I said, where's the PC and his gf got it out.

He had knocked it off, and it ripped the back out of the GPU, and so as he lost his temper over that, he proceeded to punish it by booting it round the floor with his steel caps on.

Poor thing looked trashed.

CD and FDDs squashed out, case looked like it had a bad accident with a truck, etc.

I took it apart, panelbeated it out, reassembled, even the GPU bit (soldered) and OMG it worked!!! It was an ASUS MB ....

The buttons were gone though, so he jump started the PC for quite a long time after that....nearly a year before he finally got another.
