I'm going on a 3-week Outward Bound course in a few weeks, and though I can't bring a smartphone I can bring a camera such as a GoPro.

In the interests of saving a few dollars, does anyone have an action cam such as a GoPro they are looking to sell?  I've been looking at the GoPro range mostly because they seem to have a wide range of accessories (such as underwater housings) which might not be as easy to find for other brands, but if someone had a complete set for a different brand, I might be interested.

Doesn't have to be latest and greatest - so long as it still takes a decent picture, that's the main thing.

I have a Yi 4K camera, with underwater housing (plus remote, selfie stick, and dog mount) that I’ve been meaning to sell if that is of any interest?

The mount on the housing is compatible with GoPro accessories

Congrats, have a great time on the Outward Bound course!

re a GoPro, I could personally recommend a very good one 😉

The newer styles have water sealed bodies, so you don't have to use housings that can fog up etc.

The Hero 7 has the newer hypersmooth stabilisation, that genuinely makes a massive difference over the earlier models.

Thanks everyone for the responses (and the well wishes for Outward Bound).

I'm not really sure on the budget.  It's something I have been thinking about for a while, that I might use if I had one (e.g. when out and about with the kids on the bikes), but it could easily be the camera that never gets used after Outward Bound).  After all, they say the best camera is the one you have with you, and normally that's my phone.  It's just that for Outward Bound I can't take my phone.  So I wouldn't want to spend big bucks on something that may not get a lot of use, which is why I'm happy to buy used.  Of course, "big bucks" means different things to different people.

Having a quick look around Trademe and Pricespy, it looks like the Hero7 Silver goes for about $300 new, and around $150-200 used on Trademe.  But new usually doesn't include accessories or extra batteries, while some of the Trademe auctions do.  I guess, depending on the age/condition of the model, what accessories come with it, then about $100-200 is probably my budget.  I really don't know.

To be honest, if you go used, try get the Black version. I have a Session Four, Five Black and Seven Black. The Five Black is the first of the waterproof ones (without the extra case). I don't think the image quality has improved markedly, but the HyperSmooth does work really well, but Outward Bound doesn't seem like the kind of thing that there will be a tonne of bouncing around in which case you won't need the optical stabilization.

Whichever way you go, make sure you get a decent Micro SD card, the GoPros can be fairly sensitive to them.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the offers.  I've found a GoPro Hero5 Black from a GZ member, which I've bought.
