Due to a mix up with Amazon delivery I have ended up with two of these so selling one - Amazon support said I could keep it. Its brand new in packet and hasn't been used. Note that this is a 2 meter length active cable so will provide full 40Gbps for uses such as connecting an eGPU which is what I use it for - no more noisy eGPU on my desk :-)

$90 with free shipping. Hit me up on DM if interested.

how well does this actually work with an egpu? have you done any tests with performance numbers using an egpu (with a decently powerful gpu and a demanding game/benchmark-app) with this cable vs a standard/short 1 foot cable it likely comes with?

It shouldn't make any difference I wouldn't think, if you are connecting at 40Gbps you are connecting at 40Gbps. MacOS shows a full 40Gbps so that's enough for me. Can't say I've noticed any difference in use but I'm no hardcore gamer.

i use a eGPU with my MacBook and Windows Boot camp. I currently have 5700XT which while is supported, is causing me issues, going to put my 590 back in. But under Boot Camp windows, you get a much more FPS that your onboard, your GPU is only running at x4 and not normal x16. I enjoy a single cable to plug into my eGPU, with dual screens and it also charges my machine (15" MacBook needs 85watt). I also have a 4 USB Ports on my eGPU and NIC port

Balm its gone!
