Looking for a pi to use for Home Assistant, anything out there?
Thanks.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

Obviously. But a Pi needs a case.

Sorry for not explaining enough. You can buy the set including the case from the same outfit. Works nice with a 4gb unit. It took me a long time to make up my mind, and, happy I bought this unit.

Looks pretty good, what do you do with a RPi4? No experience with them.

Why a 3 rather than a 4 when they are the same price?

Except they're not. Pi 4 with 1GB isn't available anywhere. Even raspberrypi.org only links to the 2GB and 4GB models. The 4GB version seems to be the only one that is readily available, and that's $30 more than a Pi 3B+.

I assume the OP wants the Pi 3B+ for software compatibility. I'd suggest looking at alternative software.

Go for Pi4, so much better for performance.

One thing to keep in mind, if you want to add some hardware modules to your Pi running HA they may not be compatible, i.e. ZWave USB Stick

I have a couple spare v2Bs here if you are interested? Come with official case and 8GB SD card.

Thanks all, decided to get a Raspberry Pi 4, not much more expensive.

I'd be interested in at least one if peejayw isn't.

Sweet as, looks like he has opted for a Pi4. You can have them for $20 each (2 available). Plus shipping, call it $5.
