Are these units only 240v hard wired? As in no option for batteries?

Do you have to sign up to the nest subscription to use them?

So they work without 240v at all? I.e. the battery is not just a backup?

And same question - does it only work with the Nest / Google app?

The Nest subscription provides the the remote access / monitoring functions via the mobile app and website access.

jjnz1: What's the expiry date on them?

The manufacture dates are Aug 2015 and Sept 2016 with the replacement date being Aug 2025 and Sept 2026 correspondingly.

And to pre-empt any questions about why we don't install them in our new home - We have an integrated security, lighting, hot water, heating, cooling and ventilation system from https://www.atatouch.co.nz/

I suppose you're wondering "What's a reasonable offer?"

This is how I've calculated this...

The price for a new Nest Smoke Alarm being advertised on TradeMe is $222.55 including free shipping.

A Nest Smoke Alarm recently sold via this forum was advertised at $135 including free shipping.

Based on this and that I that I don't want this process to drag on for days... A reasonable offer to me would be $200 for both or $125 each. I haven't checked the cost of postage yet but this would be extra.

Anyone like to PM?

Come on people, someone must be interested in these smoke alarms...

These main powered smoke alarms provide additional features over the only battery versions - they provide a 'night light' function when they detect movement in the night to guide you; they are linked together, so in an emergency they both issue alerts.

Why don't you name your own price for the two together???

No insults, please

Battery versions do the nightlight and link up. I don't think any features differ?

$200 is a good price though for both - except having to wire them is a pain. If you don't wire them you can use them off the battery, but you will get mains alerts all the time.

I already have 2x battery versions that I am happy with.

Stupid Question: How can I change topic title change from 'FS' to 'Sold'... or is this done by a moderator?
