See here for details.

The left mouse button is a little buggy (hence why I am replacing it). Works 75% of the time I would guess.

Free to a good home, pickup in Sumner, ChCh.

Looks like a pretty new unit - can't you claim a repair/replacement on warranty/CGA?

I would have thought that something only 1 year old would still be covered by the CGA...

Even if it's out of warranty, a keyboard + mouse should last a few years (3+) in my opinion. Especially if you are paying about $200 for the unit.

In my opinion - take it to the retailer or contact Microsoft and quote the CGA.

I don't use the Sculpt mouse (just the keyboard), so would be interested if you were willing to ship up to Wellington. Would of course pay for shipping plus extra for your troubles/because it still has value!

I'd also say it's easily covered by CGA. I have plenty of keyboards of mice ranging in age 4-21+ years old still working. Maybe you could argue if you're a heavy gamer/streamer and you abuse it a bit, maybe only 2-3 years. But I'd say most people expect their keyboards / mice to function much longer than that. The only failure I can recall was a cheap ~$20 MS keyboard that had some keys stop working after about 4 years. The other stuff I've replaced was because it's gotten so worn, old, grubby it just felt like time for a shiny new one.

And like backfiah I also don't use the mouse with these sets. I'd imagine a lot of people don't. I'd also be happy to play for shipping plus extra. But if not going the CGA route, I'd imagine you might be able to sell it for $50 or so. Would help cover some of the cost of the replacement.

From memory this set uses a proprietary wireless protocol and is linked to the wireless dongle in the factory and you can't swap it out for another mouse (to the same dongle).

Appreciate the reply - I have already bought a replacement and have agreed to send the old set to @backfiah. I am more than happy to pass these things on for free, to a good home, to prevent them ending up in landfill.
