Hey guys,

just wondering if any of you have a ATI HD2600XT AGP for sale, or similar, I'm looking at making an box for watching Freeview HD on, but the current components I have limit to me AGP only.

Thanks in advance

I think a Nividia would be a better card.  ATI hasn't got the best drivers for it's h264 decoding of freeview.

Hey,

Yea I looked into it, but because the motherboard I'm using doesn't support PCI-E, I limited to AGP cards only. Unless im missing something and there is a cheapish Nvidia AGP card that can do hardware acceleration?

Cheers

I find that strange that Nividia would drop the the AGP market.  But your right, only ATI have agp cards.

One thing to also be wary of is whether you will get hardware acceleration working on an AGP card. I know initlally this just didn't seem to work.

Hey guys,

Yea I've read that some people have got the hardware acceleration to work on the HD2600XT, not sure how well but they seem to think it is alright, plus it will still be a big step up from a FX5700 that I currently have in the machine.

Yea I've looked on pricespy, and it seems quite expensive, I was hoping to pick up a second hand one at a good price!

Cheers
