Yep, I am keen to have a look at your wares. I was on Ascents site today looking at their voip phones and liked the SMC WSKP100 Skype Wi-Fi phon. It is just what I wanted but the aastras and the snom M3 in particular are also good looking propositions as well. Do you have both base stations and extra phones for them as well as would like an extra handset or two as well.

Will fire off a PM to you now.

These are all SIP phones and aren't compatible with Skype. Likewise the Skype phone you looked at won't work with a SIP service (what virtually all VoIP providers are using).

Hmmm you've given me some food for thought there.

I thought the smc would work by either just pluging it into the Linksys PAP2T box I have ( naked broadband with xnet and using an old decrepid uniden on last legs atm) along side the existing pots phone. I got idea off another subscriber in geekzone doing just that thru the pap2t and being able to use skype functions in any wifi spot. We have wifi at home too and hoped to use skype part thru the wifi router here for long tolls and free ones to other skype relatives overseas. I stand to be corrected tho Sealed.

As for the above phones they should work OK with the setup I have won't they ? Being sips they would just conect before the pap2t box wouldn't they or am I missing something ?

Its all a bit new to me but getting there heh. We started off last year with 20 dollar dse usb phone and skype thren tried the slingshot  voip service with it. Crap lol. Any advice or help with them is much appreciated. Thanks for that.

None of these phones connect to the PAP2T. The PAP2T is only for connecting analogue phones as you have done at present.

All of the phones here are ethernet (plug straight into your router) or WiFi. They all use SIP which means they are no use for Skype as it uses an incompatible proprietory protocol.

The SMC Skype phone you talk about also doesn't plug into your PAP2T or go anywhere near it. It is a WiFi handset that will connect to a WiFi router. It also won't work in any WiFi spot that requires HTTP authentication.
