Need about 45m of Outdoor Solid Gel CAT6 cable to run through some underground conduit to a separate office. Was going to use standard cable but have since been advised that water will penetrate conduit and gel filled was required.

Been to JA Russells but they only sell it by the 305m roll.

Anybody have some leftover or know where I can get some?

I can sort you out with ubiquiti tough cable carrier, which is an outdoor rated cable, although not gel filled (if you can't get gel filled)

There is Ubiquiti "TOUGHCable" which PBTech seem to sell by the meter but it's only CAT5e.

Also looks like GoWireless have a pre-made 50m outdoor CAT6 which might be more what you are after.

Nick - that's Cat5e correct? I'm really looking for CAT6 if I'm going through the hassle of running it through conduit. Doesn't need to be gel filled though, just waterproof.

@lucky0105 - Cheers for the links! That's an option albeit an expensive one!

Thanks for the find. It is shielded, and I've also been advised not to run shielded copper unless you're planning on grounding it. Then there's the argument of grounding at one end vs both ends, earth loops etc to deal with. Thoughts?

I would run that, if it's in conduit it doesn't need to be gel filled really. Just use non-shielded ends/keystones. If it's in conduit the whole way, any standard CAT6 would be fine wouldn't it?

As stated, I've read that water will inevitably penetrate the conduit and regular CAT6 should not be run in wet areas. I was thinking about maybe running a single length of Flexible Conduit as this should certainly keep any water out so that's still an option.

Would be keen to get the thoughts of others who have done it before though.

EDIT: I think this is potentially something I'm overthinking, and just running a regular CAT6 in any conduit will be fine for many years to come.

I have had regular cabling in buried conduit since around 2011, still running gigabit with no problem.
