I'm fed up with watching TV2, TV3 and C4 in black and white (funnily enough TV1 is in full colour with a great picture - go figure!), which is all my Warehouse "rabbits ears" will get me.

Has anyone in the Chch or Dunedin areas got an old VHF or UHF external (outside - on the roof sort of thing) antenna sitting around in their garage or being used as a washing line?

I am prepared to part with good money (not much money, but good none the less) for something to improve my viewing pleasure, but I don't want to be spending $120 at tricky dickies.

I may even be able to come to some arrangement involving wine, asparagus or a leg of lamb!!

Given TV2, TV3 and C4 are VHF channels from major trnsmitters in Chrischurch and Dunedin I'm not sure that a UHF antenna would be the best choice.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Being an ex-Telecom radio tech I am well aware of the difference between a VHF and UHF antenna, and also well aware that anything - even perhaps a length of wet string - would be better than what I have at present.
