Random...I know. I'm trying to track down a couple of decent Storm trooper outfits for a 70's party this weekend in Wellington.

Thanks in advance

I think you chances might be quite low, Trooper armour isn't cheap and people are pretty protective about theirs...

If there are sets available these guys are probably the ones who would now

Depends on what sort of stormtroopers he meant, some brown shirts and trousers, black boots, and a colour-laser-printed armband and you've got a reasonable stormtrooper outfit.

Just possibly the wrong type of stormtrooper. It'd actually be funny to turn up at a Star Wars-themed do like that and innocently ask "oh, you meant the other kind of stormtrooper...".

I'm a member of the aforementioned above..

And no, we tend to hold our 40+hrs accumulation of parts and work and expensive toys close to home :)

We do do event and birthday 'appearances' (think photo ops for people) in lieu of donation made on our behalf to charity of choice. But not loan them out for personal situations.

There are some cheapo onesie type ones at the likes of spotlight. But the rest are largely order-in from china. Vs our vac formed and custom modded to fit

Be aware that you can't sit down in proper rigid storm-trooper costumes.

I thought it was because they could not shoot straight and couldn't hit the side of a barn  :)

That's how the Galactica is powered, the perpetual motion effect of combat between Star Trek redshirts who always get killed in the first thirty seconds of any engagment and Star Wars stormtroopers who couldn't hit the side of a barn from the inside.
