Before you go jumping on a new machine, I would wait a few days. I have seen articles online about this and how the windows 11 documentation actually states 1.2 will be fine and v2 is a soft floor requirement, whatever that means

I gather it means you will be able to get away with it, but you will get warnings that it's not supported etc.

That was an internal document that was released by accident, and applies to earlier builds of the OS. It's been removed from Microsoft's site and all the official documentation says that 2.0 is required.

An update on this. Bought the part on the 27 June and got a FedEx tracking number - which usually means a quick delivery. After three weeks with no delivery I contacted the seller, who apologised saying the box was returned as "damaged" and they didn't have any more in stock. They offered me a refund - which I accepted. Suddenly they did have another part in stock and that was shipped last week. I see on FedEX tracking it's now in Wellington for delivery today or tomorrow so let's see how it goes and will post another update when I install on my box at home.
