Anyone from New Plymouth area who is able to deliver a camera from DSE New Plymouth up to Auckland? Particular item i'm after is $300 and it's a clearance product, so DSE won't do deliveries. It's for personal use, but i'm prepared to pay for your efforts.

Can you not ask your local store to get it in for you, and you will pay for the freight?

Otherwise, send a cheque, or buy gift vouchers, send them down, and then it will be paid for locally. Obviously you would need to organise it with that store, and include enough to cover postage.

DSE refuse to send clearence items anywhere - Ive tried often to get good deals sent to a local store and theyve turned me down every time.
Also 90% of the time, the store that supposedly has the stock knows nothing about it.

being an ex-DSE employee (left on saturday), the reason why clearence, quit stock, discontinued products are not transfered from one store to the other because the items are then retailing at a loss price. And each store has a store manager who has to achieve min amount of profit and GP% at the end of the month. No store manager would like to recieve (in this case OP's local store) -ve GP. Also the fact that shipping would add to DSE cost as well. It's fair for the store managers to do this.

Do whatever you want to do man.

This is what I found out at several occasions as well. Often I would drive to a local store only to find that stock isn't even available even though website shows as stock available (this is only for clearance items).
