I realize everyone wanting to build a budget PC for gaming etc is probably after these boards but figure it's worth a shot. This is on behalf of my flatmate, who I'm helping build his computer.
He's had some poor luck in putting his PC together, 2 dead CPUs, 1 dead motherboard and 1 struggling one. I've been helping him build it, and it really needs a 8 or 9 series chipset motherboard, preferably Z87 or Z97 but if it's an H-series chipset with four RAM slots that will work as well (he already has RAM and a working CPU). Proof that it works would be awesome (solely because I think the dead motherboard cost him something shocking like $300 only to blow the CPU 12v circuitry a day after getting a working CPU) and pickup in Hamilton even better, however happy to pay extra for courier.
Preferably if it supports an i5-4570 out of the box (ie BIOS updated) that would be awesome too, we weren't sure with his first board if it was a dead CPU or just a motherboard without the latest BIOS hence the purchase of the 4570.
I don't know if it could sweeten the deal at all but I'd be willing to trade a Dell Optiplex (don't remember specific model, its a SFF model hence why I haven't just given my flatmate this computer to use since the GPU won't fit, will post model # in the morning) with an i5-2400, 8GB of RAM and 500GB HDD plus extra for the right deal.
Regarding the Ryzen motherboard I mentioned in the subject, we have access to a Ryzen 5 2600 that if all else fails we could be interested in doing a trade in order to use, the idea would be we'd swap the i5-4570 and 32GB of DDR3 (4x8GB) for a Ryzen motherboard and an equivalent amount of memory (2133 would be fine), however this is probably a last resort option.
Thanks in advance,
