Any reason why you are specifically after this HP laptop?
I use a HP Elitebook 850 G6 at work and the screen and build quality is terrible.

You'd be the first person I know to say that. They have had some battery bulging issues but build quality seems top-notch to me.

+1 to this, Apart from the budge issue (which HP happily acknowledged and happily replaces) we don't get any real complaints about Elitebooks.
This is off the OPs topic, But judging corporate laptops should always be taken with a grain of salt without know the specific specs. For example, HP offered the 850 G6 with 18 different different options for its display (from a basic 1376 x 768 lcd to 4k or 1080p Touch models, Gloss, Matte etc).
Some companies will spec the display down to meet price points, Where the 'off the shelf' models from the distributors will generally had a decent middle of the road panel.

My unit had a matte screen, non-touch, and a basic (non-4K) screen.
The microphone had failed so no one could hear me and the keyboard had a single replacement already.
However, given the overwhelming praise for this unit - I suppose I may have just got a lowly-spec'd and bad-luck unit.

It's about 2 years old? It was an 8th Gen i7-16GB. Need to give it back to IT.
The laptop is currently sitting in my locker right now at work as I've upgraded to a new laptop just before lockdown.
