Looking for Intel socket 115x CPU heat-sink and fan to fit Dell OptiPlex motherboard. These boards have the screw fixings rather than the plastic push in type, fan is a four wire type but goes into a 5 pin plug (I can adapt a 4 pin plug to work if I have to).

Been given a Dell OptiPlex DT 9010 motherboard to play with for my garage computer, would like to get correct or easy to fit CPU cooler to have it working properly. Also after the chassis fan if you have one of the "series 4" OptiPlex's for parts since it also has the 5 pin plug.

I'm based in Tauranga, happy to pay postage.

If you can't get your hands on one, I'd suggest removing the backplate and cutting off the 4 'legs' that have the 'screw in' part for the HSF. You can then use any regular 115x HSF you like as the holes are normal sized, (unlike some Lenovo boards that have smaller holes!)

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I'm mainly after the original unit so I don't have to fluff about with the plug. For $5-10 on trademe there are plenty of the plastic clip in ones that can be made to work, if nothing comes up here. I prefer to save stuff from the dump, I'm sure there are plenty of these old Dell coolers getting thrown out!
