Well, through no fault of my headphones *Looks mighty angry at this absolutely adorable kitten terrorist*, I need a new cable for my headphones in hopes they can be reused for my partner as theres genuinely nothing wrong with them.

The headset cable specifically is the one that goes between the headset to their little USB converter thing and to the PC. If someone has a stuffed old headset but that's got a perfectly usable cable, happy to buy the whole thing.

If all else fails? This looks to be an aftermarket one, but I spy genuine ones on Amazon too.

If all else fails yeah I could go to that but, the cable I'm looking for is digital. Aka it goes from USB to it's little inline converter which then goes to the headphones.
The converter also acts as the switch for the 7.1 surround.

I know that you are trying to avoid it, but if you did have to go with an aftermarket analogue cable replacement, this one is about a quarter of the price of the Amazon one mentioned - I know because I ordered one yesterday for my Game Zero headset because $7 seemd a lot fairer price for a bit of cable than the $50 that Sennheiser was going to charge.

As far as replacing the cord with the USB dongle goes, if you can't find someone with a spare one, the only option I know of is the official one which costs USD$39.80 including NZ shipping.

Yeah that is certainly a better option, it'll be a last recourse but thank you none the less.

Thank you very much! I don't know how I didn't come across that earlier!

Unfortunately it's actually a $59 NZD + $20 shipping and spending $80 on a cable isn't really in the wheel house at this time haha.

Holding out hope for a second hand one it is!

If your feline suspect only went through the analogue part then perhaps finding someone who is good with a soldering iron and knows their way around audio cables.

Agree with others, the DACs that come with these headsets are proprietary and annoying to replace. Often easier to have an external DAC that can be replaced easily.
