After a mid range video card for my son's PC, ideally something that will let he play some lower end games at 1080p. Budget is $200 - $300.

After watching TradeMe for a few weeks I think the following are viable:

  • RX570
  • GTX 1060
  • GTX 1650
  • RX 5500XT
  • GTX 1050

Would a GTX980 cover your needs?

As far as I can tell, they bench higher than an RX580, but seem to be about the same price.

I have a nice one, very clean with unopened accessories and still in the original box.

PM me if keen.

Sons Rig: Asus TUF Gaming X-570, Ryzen 9 3900X, G.Skill neo  2x16Gb 3600's, Sabrent Rocket 1Tb M.2, Win10 Pro, Phanteks case, EVGA G5 850W.

NAS: DS1819+ - 52Tb in Raid6

My rig: HP Elitebook X360 Lappy with a 2Tb SN850.. woohoo.. I've retired!

I'll flick you a PM, it definitely seem viable from a performance perspective but don't have a great PSU in the PC so that might be a factor.

I have a spare RX470 in my Mac Pro - I think it just takes 1 6-Pin PCIE power

I have a GTX660 you can have as well (just pay shipping)

Bit older (no new drivers so no official support for new games), but should run most older fortnite style games with no issues.

Thanks for the offer I think I'm going to go with the RX470 from Shapenz.
