Ok, so I just won a new Apple Iphone 3G 8GB, it is still sitting in its box unopened (so tempting to have a play though!!!)

As much as I want to keep it, I allready have a phone I like (Okta Touch with upgraded firmware) and so the iphone does not offer a lot of new functionality for me (apart from wifi of course) and I cant sync with my work email/calender etc.

So it has to go, RRP$979, I will consider all reasonable offers.

I give the users on Geekzone a few days to purchase before it goes onto Trademe.

So either reply to this thread or sned me a pm.

Cheers

Mat

I saw it and am looking at getting one.
Just that the price I want to pay for it is probably not what you want and you could get more on TradeMe Money mouth
I will probably get one from Vodafone on a 24 month $130 plan as that is what I am paying per month at the moment anyway.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

thanks - can't disagree with that logic.  I guess the only extra thing this phone offers is the abiltiy to change over to the new telecom network straight away (when it goes live) without having to wait/or pay for your contract to expire........  I will leave it on here for another couple of days and then load it on Trademe.  Just it was a good chance for a fellow geekzone member to pick it up at a price less the trademe sucess fees.

It is so temping to open it, but I know its value will drop straight away.

Ok, so I have had a few problems getting this phone from the company, but I am gonig with the guy early next week to purchase from the vodafone store.  This means it will have a receipt and a warranty.   The RRP is $979, the lowest i will accept is $800, so send me message if you are keen or it will end up on trademe next week.

Another option is to get the guy to purcashe a vodafone gift card for the same value ($979) and then you could get the phone, etc you want, even top the $100 or so to get the 16gb Iphone.

I have finally received today $980 worth of first mobile vodafone gift cards (8 of them becuase they can only load $125).

You could use this to buy a iphone 3g 8gb from them or anyother vodafone mobile (even add the extra $150 to a 16gb iphone)

I am waiting to hear back from first mobile what you can use the gift cards for, but I suspect it is only for hardware and accessories.

Let me know if you are keen, I would even consider splitiing the gift cards up if people wanted to do that.
