This wasn't new in box (it is used) and is not the model advertised:

I'm pretty annoyed right now... This is something that should have been checked before being posted on here.

To be honest I had problem buying something from him previously, product not as described but never heard back from him after telling him the problem.

In any situation like this I ask people to report to a mod or myself. The reason we introduced verified accounts is to make this a safe environment for everyone. We need these reports too.

IMO this should be a ban from posting in Offers and Wanted. No excuses for accidentally say something is new and un-opened when clearly not. Wrong model number could be forgiven but still annoying if seller does not rectify.

I feel torn. I bought something from 1024kb late last year. It also wasn't in the condition that it was described as so I contacted him by direct message. We agreed a full refund for return of the goods at his expense (pre-paid courier). I didn't report the transaction at the time as it was dealt with promptly and to my satisfaction. Perhaps I should have to alert the forum?

I’ve bought a few things from 1024kb and had no issues and would happily buy from them again.

Senecio:

If you do have issues feel free to request unlock on the thread (we're often quick to lock once we see a sale as completed). The thing I'd hate is for anyone else being stuck with a product that isn't as described. On Geekzone we don't have a rating system, we just mostly trust one another around here and that is where problems can happen.

I think it is vital that people check what they're selling and not sell products based on the box. In my case, it was pretty inexcusable as the box had clearly been opened before so would have taken a quick 5sec check to actually confirm the product before listing it for sale. I do understand mistakes can happen the odd time but we'd still like to know about this where possible.

I can speak for all the moderators + @freitasm that we want Geekzone to be a safe place and we don't want the few ruining it for everyone. We want people to be able to trust one another but if there is any doubt at all our private messages are always open.

Exact same situation here. Bought brand new Bosch professional power tool kit but arrived and it’s actually very used plus missing items.

He messaged and reassured he’ll buy a new kit and send.

2+ weeks later, still waiting but when I followed up it might end up in a refund which I honestly feel unfair as I missed out on few deals on marketplace because I already had this coming.

Not a complaint as it seems like he’s trying to fix this.

A refund would truly suck as I bought it as a gift and I’m already behind schedule.

Thanks

I did get a full refund so I consider this issue to be resolved.

Locking this now. Please refer to this thread about reporting any trades that are not as advertised: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=77&topicid=303558

Thanks all!
