Once again, I am looking for a Blu-Ray player. Nothing fancy, 1080p is fine, but my set-up requires a coax digital audio output for surround sound. Yes, prehistoric, but it works for me and I can't afford a new sound system. I had a Sony player with both digital outputs as well as HDMI, but that has died on me and now I need something like it.

Current Sony one still does have coax https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/products/sony-bdp-s3500-blu-ray-player-with-wi-fi

Thanks for the tip. More than I really want to pay but I will keep it in mind.

Does the Sony BDP-S380 have what you need? I have one.

You’ve probably already considered it, but an audio extractor like this might give you a few more options on which blueray player you use. They’re possibly available a bit cheaper on aliexpress https://www.trademe.co.nz/electronics-photography/tvs/cables-aerials/auction-4869086424.htm

That does have coax audio out.

Thanks for the offers and suggestions guys. I now have a player that does what I want. I meant to post that here but forgot. Apologies.
