Selling one slot on my NZ YouTube premium family membership account. Just the one slot available. Now - 23rd December 2025

Happy to provide some sort of insurance. If the account for some reason plays up in the future, I will refund you the rest of the year ($6 per month. 6 months later for example if an issue appears, I will refund you $36).

Yep. I gave up and ended up signing up with NZ YT Family.

I received an email in November stating that my payment method is not from Turkey and my next renewal in December needs to be from Turkish originating credit card etc. My December renewal again went through ok without any issues with my NZ credit card and I received the same automated payment method not from Turkey email straight away and to sort it by next renewal in January. I feel that this is going to carry on working fine with my NZ credit card and they will just send me an email to sort it for next months payment method every month now.

Do whatever you want to do man.

I no longer have that option. I changed payment details in November and that worked well and then got the following:

Your YouTube Premium membership will not renew automatically and you’ll lose your YouTube Premium membership benefits on Dec 23, 2024. YouTube Premium memberships based in Turkey require a form of payment issued in Turkey.

My only option from there was to restart the membership in NZD

I have gone the Turkish route as well, using a new Apple ID and buying iTunes gift cards which I then redeem in the App Store and pay for YouTube that way. I can’t remember how I then invited my actual Google accounts for YT Premium, but it’s been working for months now and I just did a top up the other day too which should last six months or so.

For me it becomes a battle of wills every time Google changes the rules and tries their blocking techniques, with me determined to “beat the system” as I refuse to pay $500 per month or whatever ridiculous amount Google wants, just to avoid ads on YouTube. I don’t want or need any other premium features (especially not YouTube Music or whatever they’re calling it this month), I just refuse to see ads.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Off-line viewing (including auto downloads); ad-free, of course - the biggest advantage; play continues when the app is minimised; YT Music… those are the main ones I can think of.

It was a no-brainer when only paying $5-7 (via Turkey) for the whole family, but would only be worth it for us if we were to also give up on paying for Spotify Premium Family and switch to YT Music (but one of the kids is refusing to accept that…).
